PROGRAMME: |

Transfer to start of trail. The excursionists find
themselves almost immediately in the beautiful and unexpected beech wood of
Montone, a splendid place which has the typical aspect of a tall trunk beech
wood, a virtually non-existent undergrowth, a thick layer of fallen leaves, a
spacious look and plenty of penumbra.
They go up across the beech wood where it is easy to see one of the families of
fallow deer that live on the mountain near Villagrande, and enjoy the views from
the southwards exposure of the slope which hangs over the village. They reach
the top of the mountain where they can enjoy yet another beautiful view of the
town, Mount Carpegna and even further Mounts Nerone and Catria.
They then go down the opposite slope and soon after return to the village.
